Here are some pictures from the kids' Sunday School Christmas Program.  Paige played "Alice", a senior citizen, (hence the outfit) in the Christmas play.  Camden and Brielle sang Christmas songs.

Cade performs with Jazz Band at West Acres

Cade performed with his jazz band at West Acres today.  He was lucky enough to have Grandpa John, Grandma June, Grandma Cathy, and Trisha come and watch him!  He enjoyed having lunch at the mall and browsing the stores for awhile before heading back to school.

A Visit With Santa

Santa came to Breckenridge for the day.  Camden talked Santa's ear off, while Brielle was a bit shy.  They told him what they wanted for Christmas! Brielle said that Santa looked "weird" though.

Synod Youth Gathering

Cade and Chris (Chris was a chaperone) went to the Synod Youth Gathering in Alexandria on Fri-Sat.  Sounds like they had a great time.  They were able to spend Friday evening at the waterpark, dance, or movie.  Cade went to the waterpark and dance.  Lights were out at 1:00am, and the boys (there were 4 of them and Chris in a hotel room) were up at 7:00am for breakfast.  The bottom picture is where Cade was chosen to do a "Duck Call" from a Duck Dynasty themed game.  He wasn't the overall winner, but received a box of candy for participating.  Check out this youtube video of the Duck Call contest:  http://youtu.be/ol4_67vzlWQ

Paige Receives Terrific Kid Award

Today, Paige was presented a "Terrific Kid" award from the Wahpeton/Breckenridge Kiwanis at Prante's restaurant.  The kids and parents were served a meal and awarded certificates and other items.  Paige was nominated by her teacher Mr. Herder.  He wrote that "Paige is a great young lady, who works very hard in school.  Paige is well-mannered, and she is respectful to all staff and students in our school.  Paige is very deserving of this great honor.  Congratulations, Paige!"

Paige's Regular Basketball Season Comes to an End

Paige's 5th grade basketball season came to an end on Saturday after a tournament in Breck.  There were only 6 girls on the team, so all the girls got lots of playing time.  Paige rarely ever sat out, so needless to say, she was VERY tired after each game.  They didn't win any games this year, but they had fun.  Two of the six girls had never played basketball before, so they have some learning to do.  Paige may be joining a traveling team in the near future to get some more experience at different tournaments.

Paige's Amazing Day!

 

Paige had one amazing day today! She found out that her teacher nominated her for "Terrific Kid", so she will get to go to Prante's for lunch in a few weeks for a celebration with other "Terrific Kids" from around the area schools.  They do this for 5th grade only.  Besides that great news, she got 100% on her spelling test, 100% on her social studies, and 100% on her science test this week!  Way to go, Paige!  Keep up the great work!

Prairie Wetlands Field Trip

On Friday, Chris helped chaperone the 1st grade field trip to Prairie Wetlands in Fergus.  Here's a picture of Camden exploring what nature has to offer!

Halloween Party at Daycare

Brielle has been SO excited to be able to have a Halloween party at daycare.  She even gets to go trick-or-treating at the uptown businesses today!  Her daycare teacher, Christine, posted these pictures of the kids on FB.  Looks like they are excited!

Opposite Gender Day

For Homecoming Week, the kids had "Opposite Gender Day" at school today.  Unfortunately, as soon as Cade got to school, he changed after some kids made fun of him, so hardly anyone got to see him.  :(

Camden Loses his 1st Tooth!

Camden lost his 1st tooth on my birthday!  How cool is that?  He was our first to have also lost a tooth at school!  He was pretty excited!  He had LOTS of questions about the tooth fairy for us tonight!  Yikes...the camera picked up on his dirty glasses!

Camden Makes Applesauce in School

 

Camden was so excited that he got to make homemade applesauce in school.  He said, "It's so easy, you just need apples, water, cinnamon, and sugar"!

Homemade Donuts

Last weekend for the first time, we made homemade donuts.  Here are just a few of them that we made (we gave a bunch of the nicely shaped ones to a bunch of friends).  Chris was the "dropper", and I was the "flipper".   They tasted great!

Gummy Bear Math

Today, Camden had Gummy Bear Math that Chris went to with him at school.  They got to do a lot of counting and sorting of gummy bears.  At the end, they got to eat their gummy bears, of course!

Cade-7th Grade Football

We have been enjoying going to Cade's 7th grade football games.  He has been playing center position on offense and the same position (nose guard..I think..) on defense.  I think he enjoys getting to hike the ball to the quarterback every time.  They've been winning some games; losing others.  He only has a few weeks left of football.

Taylor Swift Concert

Paige was asked by a friend to go to the Taylor Swift concert, and their seats were very close to the front as you can see.  It was a late night, but the girls had lots of fun!  Wish I could've been there!

First Day of School

It's the first day of school for the 2013-14 school year!  The kids are excited!  Brielle was also excited to go back to daycare!

Daddy Makes Good Ribs!!

Chris has his rib grilling down to perfection, and the kids (all except for picky Cade) LOVE the ribs.  They eat them 'til there's nothing but the bone left.
