Vacation Bible School

Cade and Paige attended a second Vacation Bible School this summer. They both had a great time. Here they performed during a little program on their last night. They are all wearing their tie-dyed t-shirts they each made.

Swimming Lessons

The kids finished another round of swimming lessons. They both had a great time with lessons and really liked their teachers. Their classes were nice and small too, so they got quite a bit of one-on-one attention. We also picked a great session as the days were perfect for lessons. Cade was excited that he learned how to dive this summer.

Pony Rides

On Saturday, we attended a benefit in Gwinner for Tanya's cousin, Kim, who is battling cancer. We all had a good time bidding on items at the live and silent auctions. We walked away with some goodies. The kids enjoyed the pony rides, petting dogs, the bean bag toss, and the dunking tank.

A Case of Swimmer's Itch

There was only 1 downfall of going to the lake on Sunday, and that was a case of swimmer's itch that Chris caught. Hopefully in a few days, the symptoms will have subsided.

A Day at the Lake

Yesterday, we went to visit Paul and Cherie at their cabin on Lake Ida. We all had such a great time, and the weather was perfect! The kids and Chris enjoyed being "Tarzan" on the rope swing as well as just swimming in the lake. We also all enjoyed the pontoon ride around the lake. It was such a great day! Thanks for having us, Paul and Cherie! The kids are already asking when we can come back!

Our Garden

Here's a picture of our garden this year. We have the following planted: rhubarb, tomatoes, onions, carrots, green peppers, squash, cucumbers, and pumpkins. I'm so anxious for fresh tomatoes! The kids will occasionally help pick weeds. Paige was really excited to find a big cucumber hiding in the garden last night! Our garden plants took a toll in the hail and strong winds we had not too long ago, but hopefully they weren't hurt too badly.

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream!

The kids' favorite bedtime snack is ice cream. They beg each and every night for ice cream right before bed. I recently bought "sugar cones" which were a hit as you can see. Here's a picture of them having their special treat.

4th of July Weekend

We had a nice 4th of July weekend. On the 4th, we went to Chris' mom and Dale's place for a family get-together. We had fun playing yard games, sitting around and visiting, and watching fireworks. Cade had fun lighting fireworks with his cousin Ryan and his friend. Paige went down the waterslide many times, and Camden enjoyed his little pool and being held all day by various family members. We all enjoyed sitting around the bonfine after the fireworks and eating S'mores!

On Saturday, July 5th, we went to Roger and Kathy's house (Tanya's uncle and aunt) for a family get-together as her aunt and uncle from Idaho were here for a visit. The kids had fun playing with their cousins despite the hot, humid day.

NDSCS Kiddie Basketball Camp

The last week of June, Cade attended NDSCS Kiddie Basketball Camp from 6:30-8:30 in the evenings, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We enjoyed watching him scrimmage the last 1/2 hour each night. The kids were treated with Freeze Pops each night because it was so warm in the activity center.

A Fun Day at the Pool

Today was a great day to be at the pool since we had 90 degree weather. I was brave by bringing all 3 kids to the pool by myself. It was Camden's first trip to the pool, and he had a good time splashing in the water and watching all the kids in the pool (which was very busy), but he mostly wanted to be held by Mommy in the water. Cade spent all of his time with his friends in the deep end, going down the tunnel slide, and jumping off the diving board. Paige spent most of her time in the baby pool going down the frog slide and practicing going under water. I couldn't believe that she never once got out of the pool complaining that she was cold like she usually does. I also took her into the deep end where she wanted to practice swimming. Cade and Paige went back to the pool again after supper with some friends.
