Fun with Grandma Cathy
The kids recently spent a few days with their Grandma Cathy. She took them to the Ransom County Fair, a hotel/indoor waterpark in Casselton, and to Chuck E. Cheeses in Fargo. Wow!! Here are some pictures of their fun at the waterpark. Cousin Sara came to get in on the fun. The kids' last getaway before school starts..

Wilkin County Fair
Last night, we took the kids to the Wilkin County Fair in Breckenridge. It was a pretty small fair, but the kids still had fun. There weren't a huge number of rides to choose from, but the kids rode steady with their wristbands from 5-7. Afterwards, we ate fair food, looked at the exhibits and animals, watched a talent show, and listened to a live band. The kids even tried their hands at milking a cow!

Cade's 8th Birthday
Cade celebrated his 8th birthday party at Three Rivers Gymnastics. He and 11 of his friends had a great time at the gymnastics arena. The most popular activity was jumping in the sponge pit. After his party, we, along with Grandpa John, Grandma June, Grandma Cathy, and Trisha came back to our house for supper. Afterwards, Cade opened his gifts from family. He had a great 8th birthday!

Storybook Land & Aberdeen Waterpark
This weekend, we took Cade and Paige (Camden stayed with Grandpa & Grandma) on a trip to Aberdeen to visit Storybook Land (including the Land of Oz) and the new waterpark. The weather was perfect...88 degrees and sunny! We spent a little over an hour at Storybook Land, but could have easily spent the day there. It was much bigger than we thought, and best of all, admission was FREE! After lunch, we headed to the waterpark, which we all enjoyed. We have already decided that we'll be going back next summer (and we'll spend more time at Storybook Land).

Cade loved going down all 3 slides.
He liked the yellow one the best
because it was so fast!

Welcome Lydia Imbur!
Last night we went to visit my best friend Nicole, and her husband Casey, in Fargo as she had her second baby, Lydia Imbur on 8/6/08. Nicole looked wonderful...she certainly didn't look like she had just given birth, and Lydia was BEAUTIFUL! Congrats to them all!

Quick Learner
On Sunday, I mentioned to Chris that we need to teach Paige two things before school starts: 1) to tie her new tennis shoes and 2) to learn how to ride her bike without training wheels. She learned how to tie her shoes in just a few tries and now wants to tie her shoes all the time. This morning, the first thing she did was put on her new shoes and tied both of them. She was pretty proud of herself! Last night, Chris started having her practice riding her bike without training wheels and she did SO good SO quickly. After about a total of 1 1/2 hrs of practice, she is cruising around the neighborhood like she's ridden for quite awhile. It is so amazing how quickly she learned. She's even able to start and stop now all by herself. We all went for a bike ride tonight around the neighborhood now that Paige can ride bike! So far, Paige hasn't had any skinned up knees or wipeouts (knock on wood), but she did have one incident where she ran into a parked car, but that was it! :) She's so proud of herself and wants to ride her bike ALL the time now.

New Glasses
Cade and Paige both got new glasses. Paige's are the most different and are taking us a little getting used to. She immediately saw them and wanted them. They are plastic framed ones, which she's never had before. They are Bratz light pink w/glitter glasses, and Cade's are SpongeBob ones. His are gray in color and very similar to his old glasses. Paige's seem a bit big on her narrow face, but they only come in one size, and the technician said they fit good on the sides of her face.
