Easter Egg Hunt

On Saturday, I took Camden and Paige to the Breck. Elementary School for an Easter Egg Hunt and also lots of Easter fun. They were able to see the Easter Bunny, hunt for eggs, and do various art projects. They had a lot of fun!

Camden's surgery update

Camden's surgery went well. The hardest part for him was coming out of anesthesia. He was crying until I was able to hold him, and then he stopped crying and slept for awhile. The surgery took about 30 minutes. He has stents in his tear ducts that will stay in for 3 months, and then he'll have to get them removed (hopefully in the dr.'s office). He hasn't been liking his eye drops that we have to give him 4x a day. By the time we arrived back home, it was hard to tell that he had surgery. We found out when we got home that Cade was up in the night many times because he was nervous about Camden's surgery. He told us that he thought Camden would have cuts and stitches all over his face. I think he was relieved to see Camden looking so well.

Surgery in the Cities

Camden will be having tear duct probing with tube insertion at the U of M Children's Hospital in the cities on March 24. When he was 10 months old, he had tear duct probing at MeritCare in Fargo, but his tear ducts didn't stay open, so the next step is to have the surgery done again with little stents (tubes) put in. They will remain in his tear ducts for a few months. Chris, myself, and Camden will be heading to the cities on Tuesday morning as he has an afternoon appt. with the surgeon at his Edina office. The surgery is scheduled for 9am on the 24th. Camden had his pre-op and 3 year well child visit yesterday. He weighed 42.2 lbs (99%) and was 39" tall (85%), so there's no denying that he's a big boy!! He also got an immunization, and he didn't even cry! When the nurse said, "I'm all done", Camden replied with, "That hurt me". He was happy to get his stickers for being such a good patient. He's been doing good with the potty training. He has gone #2 in the toilet after supper 3 nights in a row!! Yay!! He's also in the 3 year old room at daycare and is loving it.

Paige had a great birthday party at Three Rivers Gymnastics. Here is a picture of Paige and all of her friends.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Camden!

Camden is 3 years old! He is growing up so quickly and certainly keeps us on our feet! He is quite the "explorer", and we have to keep watch over him at all times. He has a great sense of humor and makes us all laugh daily. We often get comments on how cute he is....he's not only cute but is a smart little one, too. It's so fun watching him learn new things almost daily. Happy birthday, big guy!

Happy 7th Birthday, Paige! (March 12)

It's hard to believe Paige is 7 years old already. Even though you can't tell by the picture, she certainly is not our "girly girl". She seems to be into a lot of things that her big brother is into...Nintendo DS, Wii, WWE wrestling, trading cards, scooters, etc. She has a whole lot of Barbies that don't even get looked at (unless she has a friend over who wants to play with them). She can name tons of WWE wrestlers and LOVES the handmade Ray Mysterio mask we got her from San Antonio (in fact, she's bringing it for show-and-tell on her b-day). Paige is having a birthday party with her friends at Three Rivers Gymnastics studio on Saturday. Happy birthday to Paige!

Our San Antonio Trip

We had a wonderful trip to San Antonio! We did so much in the 5 days that we were there. Some highlights were going on a 2 hr. segway tour, touring the Alamo, eating at the Tower of Americas, meeting up with a friend I hadn't seen in 22 years, and so much more! The weather was in the upper 60s and flowers were in bloom! It was so nice to see the flowers, grass, and leaves! Spring WILL be here for us (eventually). My friend, Jackie and I, spent hours together reminiscing about old times. She was a gracious host and took me to a fancy restaurant called Boudros. We enjoyed prickly pear margaritas, guacamole made table-side, wild mushroom appetizer, and a yummy tostada (she had prime rib). We then ate at a revolving restaurant with the NDSCS group at the Towers of Americas, which was also very fancy and had a great view of San Antonio, since we were up 750 feet in the air. We also enjoyed going to Market Square, which was a farmer's market. We bought a lot of souveniers there. Chris surprised me with a horse-drawn carriage ride our last evening there. We'd love to go back some day!

Traveling Basketball

Cade has now been practicing for the traveling basketball team he has joined. He has practice 2x/week and then 2-3 tournaments, so the hustle and bustle continues...

School Carnival

Our school had a carnival on Friday night to raise money to buy some SmartBoards for some classrooms. The kids had a good time playing all sorts of games. Cade was lucky enough to get to throw a pie at his principal's face. He had to throw 4/5 objects through a toilet seat in order to get to throw the pie, so he did a good job! The school raised about $9,000, so that was great!
