Sunday School Christmas Program

The kids had their Sunday School Christmas Program at church today. Grandpa John, Grandma June, Grandma Cathy, Dale, Trisha, and Josh all came for it. I served lunch afterwards, and then we played a game of "Buzzword" in the afternoon. It was a fun day!

YIKES....a bat in the house!!!

Tonight we were sitting together watching "A Christmas Story" when I suddenly saw something flying in our house. I let out a few screams, and Chris was wondering what I was screaming about. Finally, he noticed the flying "object". It then landed on top of our curio cabinet. The kids and I went into Camden's room while Chris took on the bat. He went and got a net and gloves on and then trapped the bat and threw it outside. We think the bat got in through the dryer vent but aren't sure. We're praying we don't have anymore bats in the house!!!

We now think it got in through the fireplace, so Chris will be taking care of that so it doesn't happen again!!

Cade as "Rudolph" in his class play

Today, Cade's class had their play performances. Cade was the lead role in his play. He played Rudolph in "Rudolph's Safety Lesson". He worked really hard this weekend memorizing his lines. He did a great job!

Visiting Santa

Today we made a trip to visit Santa. We can actually say that we didn't have any crying! Brielle didn't look too happy, but she didn't cry.

Christmas Baking

Yesterday, we spent the entire day baking Christmas goodies. We only have a little more to do, but here are the goodies we made. Paige really enjoyed making cookie dough balls for me. Chris was also a good "roller".

Having fun together!

Here is a familiar scene-Camden holding Brielle. This time, she isn't complaining like she sometimes does.

Paige FINALLY lost her 1st tooth!

Well, Paige FINALLY lost her first tooth tonight. Just recently she came home from school saying that there was a tooth growing behind her front bottom one. She didn't even realize her tooth was loose until I asked her to wiggle it. She has been wiggling her tooth nonstop, and tonight it was finally ready to come out. She's so excited for the tooth fairy to come tonight. I wonder what the tooth fairy will leave her??

Reading

Cade and Paige have been doing a lot of reading lately. Here they both are doing some "Accelerated Reader" reading. Cade just started reading a book he's been waiting for for awhile: "The Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth".

A Nice Surprise

Today when I got home from work, there was a nice surprise waiting for me on the table...a dozen roses from Chris! The card said "Just because you are the greatest wife and mother"! I think the floral shop's food pantry donation/rose special may have had a little bit to do with it too...Thanks, Chris! :)

Goodbye Mini-Van, Hello Suburban

We are currently in Sioux Falls as we purchased a new Suburban and needed to pick it up. We are staying 2 nights. We brought Cade and Paige along but left Camden and Brielle at home. Grandma June is watching them. We should enjoy ourselves in Sioux Falls...it's a nice town with lots of great stores and restaurants. Chris decided with the 4 kids, we have outgrown our mini-van and needed something bigger. Our van is currently for sale, so if you're interested, give us a call!

Productive Sunday

Today was a very productive day. After church and lunch, Chris and I peeled apples and got 4 apple pies made (1 is currently in the oven, the rest in the freezer). We also got some squash cut up and frozen and all of our onions cut up and put in serving-size baggies. As you can see from the pictures, we had to wear swimming goggles in order to not have our eyes water from the strong onions. Every once in awhile, we'd have to go into another room and "air out" our goggles as they'd get steamed up. Camden came up from downstairs, took one look at us, started crying, and went back downstairs. I didn't know we were 'that' scary looking with the goggles on! We got about 60 baggies of onions. It will be so nice just grabbing a bag of onions when I need them!

Finally we're able to relax and enjoy the Vikings game!

Flag Football Starts

Flag football started up again. Last night, Cade had his first game in Wahpeton. They lost their first game but had a lot of fun playing. The mosquitos were really bad last night....we'll have to remember our spray next time! Flag football is on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Crazy Hair!

At Awana on Wed. night, it was crazy hair night. Camden got a hold of the clown wig that Cade was going to wear and didn't want to put it down. Paige had crazy ponytails all over her hair.

Fish Fry in Fingal

Today we drove to Uncle Kenny & Aunt Betty's farm near Fingal for their annual fish fry. They had tons of great food, and everyone had a great time. The kids enjoyed running around the yard playing with their cousins but best of all, riding Betty's horse. Paige was the first one to ride, and she didn't want to get off. Cade and Camden were a little unsure at first but once they got on, they really enjoyed themselves. Brielle was like Paige, didn't want to get off and wasn't scared at all. Thanks Betty & Kenny for a great day! Afterwards, we drove to Lisbon, had supper with G & G Weigel and then helped them unload their apple tree. I think we brought back 12 bags of apples!
