Happy 1st Birthday, Brielle!

Brielle is 1 year old today! Where has the time gone? Brielle has now moved into the 1 year old room at daycare, so that's a big transition. She will get to go outside each day to play and will only have 1 nap. I think she'll do great with the new schedule. Brielle has a good sense of humor and likes to do her "funny face", wave bye-bye, play patty-cake, play peek-a-boo, copy noises you make, go in the stroller, and a whole lot of other things. She is walking along furniture and only needs 1 finger to walk to you. She has only 2 teeth. She still isn't the best eater of table foods, but hopefully that will come soon. She loves to be held and cuddled by every member of our family. Happy 1st birthday, sweet little girl!

Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons started today. Paige is in Level 3, and Cade is in Level 5. It was cool this morning, but the kids said the water was warm. Paige has really improved her swimming skills this summer. She passed a swim test at the pool and is able to swim in the deep end and go off the diving board and slides. The kids have been going to the pool almost everyday, and Paige has the tan to prove it.

Roasting Marshmallows

We tried out our new firepit tonight. I bought this firepit at a garage sale for $10. We spray painted it a little, and it looks as good as new. The roasted marshmallows were yummy! Before roasting, we played a game of croquet, and Mommy won! It was a fun evening.

Car Show

Well, Chris didn't win in the Wilkin County Fair car show, but he had a good time anyway. Despite the humid 90+ degree day, he had fun being with his friend Scott who also entered his truck in the show, enjoying people drooling over his truck (ha!), and eating fair food.

Wilkin County Fair

We all enjoyed a fun time at the Wilkin County Fair yesterday. It was HOT, but we survived. We played Book Bingo, watched a Penny & Pals concert, saw the animals and exhibits, ate fair food, watched an ATV pull, went on rides, and watched a talent show. We were tired when we got home! We also tried a new treat at the fair-deep fried Oreos...they were mmm mmm good! Today, Chris is at the fair as he has our pickup entered in the car show.

Paige in Softball

Paige was in softball this summer, and today was her last day. Here is a video of her getting a hit. She really enjoyed playing softball this summer.

Our Shed is Finally Complete

Our shed is finally complete! Chris finished the gutters up yesterday. Today, he plans on filling it with stuff from our garage. We will need to do a little landscaping around it yet and that will be it. He plans on having a gutter go into a rain barrel in the back with a spicket on it for using it to water our plants.

Baseball

Well, Cade's baseball season came to an end. He was in the Cal Ripken league this year, which consisted of 9 & 10 year olds. Cade was assigned to the Rockies team. He did a really good job and really enjoyed the season. We also enjoyed going to the games, but 3 nights a week was a lot. Next up in a few weeks is swimming lessons.

Things finally slow down in August with no activities!

We Miss You Sara!

Cousin Sara (and Camden's godmother) has been in Spain since May doing student teaching...she is taking up elementary education and Spanish. We sure missed her this year on the 4th of July! Sara, here are some messages for you. We hope that you are having a great time in Spain!
